DAY 16 GUILIN Meals included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner Enjoy a cruise tour of the Li River. View "Elephant's Trunk Mountain" where nature has done such a wonderful job. Here you will not need much imagination. On the shore, a cave cuts into the base of the mountain, thus giving it the appearance of an elephant's trunk. Suddenly, Beauty of Crown Hill, which is very similar in appearance to an imperial crown appears; there is a spring of pure water to be found in the grotto within. Just before Xingpeng stands Screen Hill. Its rock face rises sheer above the water and the structure and color of the stone combine to create the illusion of nine dancing horses, giving the imaginative observer the impression of a giant natural painting before him. As your boat glides along peacefully you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. Small villages line the shore; small, arched bridges span the streams which run into the river; water buffaloes wallow in the water and naked children play in the warm caves. Continue your journey along the Li River and marvel at "Nine Oxen Mountain", "Embroidery Mountain", "Apple Mountain" and "Painting Mountain" - an expansive rock face where you can allegedly make out the figures of nine horses. On another mountain slope you can see the profile of two climbing bears. Disembark at Yangshuo, a small town on the picturesque Li River. For pure scenic beauty look no further than quaint and casual Yangshuo. Dramatic kart towers blanketed in verdant vegetation stud the Li River, and the surrounding countryside is a riot of green. Visit Yangshuo Market and Moon Hill. This evening attend the “Yinxiang Liusanjie” performance with VIP seating. The show is performed on the water with the background of the river and mountains. There are numerous farmers/actors involved in the show with traditional dancing and minority songs. “Liu San Jie” is the name of a girl in a famous Chinese story about Guilin. Later the story was made into a film and was about a famous folk song singer that had a lot of struggle with the landlords and fought for the right of the poor farmers.
