DAY 06 BEIJING/XI'AN (Breakfast, Lunch) At 6:30 AM be ready in the lobby of the Raffles Hotel in preparation for your transfer to the Beijing Airport. 9:30 AM Depart Beijing via Air China flight # 1289 direct service to Xi'an. Total flying time: 2 hours, 5 minutes. Economy Class. 11:35 AM Arrive Xi'an. You will be met outside the baggage claim area by your guide and escorted to a waiting vehicle. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit the Yangling Tomb where a special visit to the restoration room has been arranged. The Yangling Tomb is the resting place of Emperor Jingdi and his wife Empress Wang of the Western Han Dynasty (202BC to 9AD). Excavations of the tomb over the last century have resulted in the unearthing of over 600 color-painted pottery figurines and 4,000 pieces of various cultural relics. The figurines included warriors escorting the imperial chariot, attendants watching over boxes and cases, cattle drovers and clerks. Visitors can view the figurines and other treasures at close range with only a glass wall in between, and strolling on glass walkways above the pits filled with treasures.
