DAY 11 BAGAN Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch This morning drive to Lat Pan Chibaw where you will board a local ferry to Pakokku. Observe ways of daily life along the Ayeyarwaddy river. Pakokku and its surroundings offer travellers a unique glimpse into the typical village life in the area. Travel by trishaw to the 19th century town of Pakhangyi. Explore Phakhagyi’s monasteries, the oldest wooden monasteries in Upper Myanmar. The monastery is built with 254 teak pillars. This region is famous for tobacco, jaggery palm sugar candy, the famous chequered blankets and hand-woven cottons. Enjoy a private boat ride on the Irrawaddy River. Pass magical scenes of Old Asia; women pounding their laundry on rocks, old paddle steamers churning the muddy waters, ox carts inching down rutted roads and small children waving gaily at the passing vessel.
