DAY 05 KATHMANDU/BHARATPUR (Chitwan) At approximately 10:15 AM be ready in the lobby of the Dwarikas Village Hotel in preparation for your transfer to the airport. You can arrange to leave your excess luggage with the concierge or front desk. For your journey to Bharatpur you will need a small overnight bag. Do not forget to pack your binoculars, comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. 11:30 AM Depart Kathmandu on Buddha Air flight # 351 direct service to Bharatpur. Total flying time: 25 minutes. 11:55 AM Arrive Bharatpur. After collecting your luggage you will be met outside the baggage claim area by an airport representative and transferred to Tiger Land Safari Resort. The airport representative will be holding a sign marked ‘Your Name’. At Tigerland Safari Resort reservations for a Deluxe Room have been confirmed for the following 2 nights. Tigerland Safari Resort lies on the edge of Chitwan National Park, a world heritage site. The Resort is spread over 20 acres of land. Tigerland Safari Resort is a wonderful sanctuary amidst lush green jungle foliage where 32 individual air conditioned deluxe villas, built on stilts and using sustainable natural materials, blend perfectly with nature. The fully air conditioned guest rooms are tastefully decorated. International size twin/ double bed, comfortable rooms, spacious attached bathrooms with running hot and cold water are a beautiful blend of wood, marble and bamboo (rattan). The thatched roofs of the villas merge beautifully within the jungle ambience as they are made from the abundant Siru grass. Enjoy lunch at the Resort. This afternoon you are taken jungle tracking on elephant back. The elephants amble through the tall elephant grass. Enjoy this rare experience as this is the best way to observe the abundant birds, flora and fauna of the park. Be on the lookout for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Chitwan National Park was declared a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site in 1979. Chitwan National Park offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem that includes mammals, birds, reptiles and water animals of several kinds. The highlights of this park are the 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros (One-Horned Rhino) and some hundred nocturnal Royal Bengal Tigers that live in the dense forests of the park.
