DAY 23 AYERS ROCK At 4:45 AM be ready in the lobby of the Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel in preparation for your Spirit of Uluru Sunrise Tour. Please make sure you carry bottled water. Witness the spectacular sunrise, drive around the base of Uluru and enjoy short walks that will bring you close to this wonderful and powerful place. View Rock art and waterholes and appreciate the unique flora and fauna. A special feature is the appreciation of the exquisite as well as the dramatic sculpturing of Uluru. This tour provides time to amble, to absorb images and to gain an insight into Uluru's remarkable presence. You will make your way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men's sacred ceremonial site. Take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology has evolved over millions of years.
